Timeless Christmas Wedding in Canandaigua, NY at King’s Catering & Party House Venue

Timeless red Christmas winter wedding at Kings Catering & Party House venue in Canandaigua | Rochester, NY | wedding planner in Finger Lakes, NY

One of my dearest friends became engaged late summer and wanted a winter wonderland wedding & I was privileged to be asked to be her Matron of Honor. When she told me about her planned short engagement, at first I hesitated, but quickly prepared to go into full planning mode.

This woman was the most kind and generous soul who had sacrificed so much for her family and others. God had answered years of prayers and tears by bringing her the man of her dreams who promised to stand by her, provide love, and protection for her and her family. She deserved nothing less than to be blessed with the beautiful wedding and I was going to do all in my power to deliver!

I sat down with her with timelines I had used from my own wedding and we began to create her vision. As a mom of four, she didn’t have any spare time to waste, so when I gave her a tasks to complete or presented a decision that needed to be made, I made sure it was direct and not overwhelming. Every outing we went on, if it was dress shopping, choosing all the apparel, picking out decor, or choosing the silk flowers we used to assemble her bridal party’s florals, I made sure to remind her to breathe and enjoy this short season.

The holidays are already so hectic and I didn’t want her to become anxious with overthinking how much there was still left to do, that was my job. I encouraged her that if we kept to our schedule of when tasks needed to be accomplished, it would be one step at a time. Coordinating her bachelorette party was a blast. One of our activities for the night was to decorate Christmas cookies together that were going to be part of the Christmas cookie bar at her reception as favors for the guests, multitasking at it’s best! The night before the wedding right after rehearsal we went to the venue to make sure all the details were in place and then I went home to finish the last touches on all of the personal flowers. I wanted to go above & beyond to make sure she loved every part of her wedding day.

The day had finally come! The sun was shinning and made the snow glisten yet still just cold enough to not melt away. It was truly magical. We were all getting ready and I looked over at her and told her “you made it!” All she could do was smile from ear to ear and I knew all my hard work was worth it. I couldn’t ask for anything more than to make her happy. It was a sweet ceremony and everything went smoothly as planned, including the mistletoe kiss. The beautiful photos were captured by Michal-Kathryn Photography. Everyone enjoyed the warm and cozy reception held at Kings Catering & Party House in Canandaigua, NY. The food was delicious, the service was kind the couple enjoyed their whole night and all their guests. After the magical sparkler send off I quickly went into post wedding coordination mode to ensure that all the loose ends were taken care of and the service was tied up in a pretty bow.
